What Did They Expect?

So I'm sure most of you have heard about Brit-rag The Guardian encouraging our cousins across the pond to send e-mails to voters in Ohio. You hadn't? Well, read up quickly and return.

You're back already. Now go and read the responses. I think the headline sums it up perfectly, don't you?

I think this just demonstrates, once again, two important things. The first is that the vast majority of Europeans don't have a clue how Americans think. The euros watch the telly and view the cinema and think they have some insight into America. Nope. Not in the slightest, but thanks for playing. Go home now and play metric football. What is possibly more damaging and insulting to them is that the vast majority of Americans simply don't care about Europe. It's a nice place to visit, but so what? So is Vegas. The amount of time your average American spends worrying about the denizens of either place is vanishingly small. We just don't care much.

Speaking of Las Vegas, J and I will be departing tomorrow for that lovely city. Viva, etc. More blogging when we return.
