Valor

On September 17, 1944 the largest airborne operation in history began: Operation Market Garden. 36,400 troops of the 82d Airborne Division, the 101st Airborne Division, the British 1st Airborne Division, and the Polish 1st Airborne Brigade went into the Netherlands by glider or parachute.

In similar news, SFC Jared Monti was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor today for his actions while fighting in Afghanistan.

The Army's most quotable General, George S. Patton, had something to say that seems relevant.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.
